Cube U9GT2 – Bigger and Better

Cube U9GT2 is the bigger version of Cube U9GT. It has a 9.7 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1024x768p. With that alone it’s really better than its 7 inch version Cube U9GT. But how about the performance? I hate to burst your bubble but then again I must say that this is an ancient tablet also. Why? because it is still powered by the single core Rockchip processor RK2918 clocked at 1.2GHz.

I don’t hate the processor. I really don’t. It’s one of the most efficient processor back in the days. But we now have quad core processors today and apps are becoming more and more power hungry. But then this tablet was made yesteryear(s) so let’s judge it according to that to be fair with it.

Specs wise, there’s not much difference between Cube U9GT. The Ram is doubled now from 512MB to 1GB. That’s for good multitasking. You can now enjoy your favorite movies with it’s HD 720p resolution. For other media needs like gaming, I should say it’s also improved because of the HD resolution. You can now play casual games like Angry Birds and the likes on HD. But don’t expect to play 3D games. Again this is only a single core powered tablet. And also, higher resolution means more power is needed from the processor so some casual games that plays smoothly on the 7 inch version may not run that well on this bigger version now.

It has 8GB and 16GB variation of built in storage and is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card. That’s good enough storage for your movies, photos, or video recordings that you may take with the use of the tablet’s dual camera. The battery capacity is 8000Mah and is said to last 10 hours. It’s also available in silver color.

Overall it’s a good upgrade over their 7 inch version. A good tablet back in the days.
